Once upon a time, there was a little girl.

The little girl’s daddy left one day,

and never came back.

The little girl cried.

And God was there.

He held her in His arms,

and He cried too.

As the little girl grew taller,

she got tired of crying all the time.

So she decided to be pissed off instead.

Soaked in sarcasm,

she armored herself against all pain.

But deep inside the little girl remained.

And sometimes,

when no one was looking,

she cried.

And God was there.

He held her in His arms,

and He cried too.

Then the little girl was all grown up.

She had a good job,

a good husband,

a beautiful child.

She made peace with the past.

Forged ahead to the future.

But then,

out of nowhere,

a long lost voice on the phone

shattered her resolve.

The woman replaced by the little girl.

Locked in her bathroom, the little girl cried.

And God was there.

He held her in His arms,

and He cried too.
